This project involved the design and delivery of a bespoke kitchen for a period home in Steyning, West Sussex. Designed in collaboration with interior designer Jemma Paugh of JC Décor, the scheme reinstated an original opening between a once dark, enclosed kitchen and the grand dining room. The result is a symmetrical, light-filled kitchen that feels entirely at home within the property’s period architecture.

Jemma Paugh has championed Cor Domi across several projects for her clients at JC Décor. When she and her husband bought a home in Steyning, the village where she grew up, she brought the kitchen to us.

The house is a weekend and school holiday base, a short walk from Jemma’s parents and a counterpoint to family life in Parsons Green. As an interior designer, Jemma had a clear vision for the space, with the kitchen and dining room working in harmony. The opening between the two rooms creates a natural connection, with the kitchen joinery designed to complement the dining room’s proportions and bring a sense of balance to the wider interior.

The result is a kitchen that feels considered from every angle, with a formal, balanced layout and joinery that makes a statement while sitting comfortably within the character of the house.
