Inside Hurlingham Park: A Nature-Inspired Family Kitchen Designed for Modern Living

When designing a family home, creating spaces that balance beauty, functionality and everyday practicality is essential. The Hurlingham Park project demonstrates how thoughtful design and bespoke joinery can transform a period property into a contemporary family home while maintaining warmth, character and a strong connection to nature.

Recently featured in Kitchens Bedrooms & Bathrooms magazine, the project centres around an 11-metre-long kitchen that serves as the heart of the home. Designed for a family with three children, the space was created to support cooking, dining, entertaining and everyday family life within a single cohesive environment.

Working closely with Project London, Cor Domi developed a bespoke kitchen and joinery scheme that embraces natural materials, earthy tones and carefully considered detailing throughout the property. A micro-Shaker style cabinetry design was selected, incorporating fluted oak accents to introduce warmth, texture and visual rhythm.

At the centre of the room sits a striking three-metre island, creating a natural gathering point for family life. Complementing the cabinetry is Breccia Capraia marble, chosen for its dramatic veining and rich colour variations, bringing depth and character to the space.

Storage was carefully integrated throughout the design, including a walk-in pantry, bespoke oak dresser, hidden appliances and tailored cabinetry solutions that maximise functionality without compromising aesthetics. Banquette seating, a dedicated bar area and a comfortable snug further enhance the versatility of the space.

Natural light played a key role in the transformation. Large areas of glazing and rooflights strengthen the connection between the interior and garden, creating a bright and inviting environment that feels open yet intimate.

The project reflects Cor Domi’s approach to bespoke design: combining craftsmanship, intelligent space planning and premium materials to create interiors that feel deeply personal and built to last.
